Madrid digitises the Carné Joven with its arrival on Google Wallet
Madrid is advancing the digitalisation of its services by adding the Carné Joven to Google Wallet. More than 744,000 young people will be able to carry it on their mobile phones and access discounts and services without needing the physical card.
Activation will be carried out through the Cuenta Digital app or website in the coming days. Once integrated, the card will be validated using a personal QR code, making it easier to use at nearly 2,000 establishments in the region.
The measure responds to an increasingly digital way of life, especially among those who combine studies, leisure and daily travel. Museums, festivals, restaurants and amusement parks are among the benefits available with this system.
The Carné Joven in Google Wallet, aimed at people aged 14 to 30 living in the Community, retains its usual conditions but gains accessibility and speed. It will also remain available in physical format for those who prefer it.
Promoted by the Department of Digitalisation, the initiative seeks to modernise the relationship between citizens and the administration, adapting public services to current habits.
