El Clot is transformed: full renewal of paving and access begins

The El Clot neighbourhood has fired the starting gun on the comprehensive renewal of its paving, an intervention long awaited by residents and shopkeepers. This week, work began to replace the old, damaged cobblestones, worn down by the constant passage of vehicles, with a much more hard-wearing concrete base.

The City Council, which announced the project in December, has included this work in the Pla Endreça. To carry it out, traffic has been closed between Coronel Sanfeliu and Escoles streets, although access for emergency vehicles is guaranteed at all times. The work is being carried out in 25-metre sections to minimise disruption and maintain safety.

In addition to renewing the paving, the plan includes replacing the removable bollards on Escultors Claperós street, which provides direct access to the market, and at the junction of Sèquia Comtal and Meridiana avenue. A new loading and unloading area will also be provided on Escultors Claperós, making logistics easier for businesses in the area.

The paving renewal is scheduled to be completed in March, although the complementary work will continue until May. El Clot is thus undergoing a transformation that will change mobility and the day-to-day lives of its residents.
