RCDE Stadium to face partial closure after incidents at Espanyol-Getafe
RCDE Stadium will have restrictions at RCD Espanyol's next home match following the incidents that occurred against Getafe CF.
The Comité de Disciplina of the RFEF has ordered the partial closure of the stands after objects were thrown from the crowd at the visiting coach, José Bordalás, and at the referees at the end of the match.
The sanction will be enforced during the match against Levante UD on 26 April. In addition, the club must identify, within 24 hours, the sections from which the objects were thrown in order to implement the measure precisely.
The punishment also includes a financial penalty and is a response to the seriousness of the incidents, made worse by similar previous occurrences. Espanyol will have to reorganise the match with part of the stands closed, in a context where security and fan behaviour are once again at the centre of the debate.
