The K-pop phenomenon lands in Barcelona with a concert by the group Twice

What comes from Korea is fashionable. Its beauty, its styles, the way people dress and its music. For this reason, in recent years, more and more K-pop groups, or modern popular Korean music from South Korea that combines pop, hip hop, R&B and electronic music, have stopped in Barcelona as festivals and concerts.

TWICE is one of these groups, “a girl band”, with a total of 9 members (all girls) who attract girls, teenagers and also an older audience because of their aesthetics, choreography and the strong personality of each of their members. The group, formed in a talent show like the popular Spanish competitions such as Operación Triunfo, because that is how most groups in the Korean K-Pop phenomenon, such as BTS or Blackpink, are chosen, debuted in 2015 at JYP Entertainment with the song Like OOH-AHH. And among their best-known songs are Cheer Up, TT, Fancy and What Is Love?

The female group consists of 9 members: Im Nayeon, Yoo Jeongyeon, Hirai Momo, Minatozaki Sana, Park Jihyo, Myoui Mina, Kim Dahyun, Son Chaeyoung and Chou Tzuyu. Although most of them are Korean, there are three Japanese members, Momo, Sana and Mina, something also common in K-pop groups made up of members born in other countries such as Australia or the United States, though of Asian descent. As a curiosity, the three Japanese singers created a sub-unit called MiSaMo that is also recognised by fans.

According to information about their tour, the group has sold around 20 million albums throughout their career, with seven albums in the Top 10 of the Billboard 200 chart, and has also received multiple RIAA gold certifications.

The TWICE concert is truly eagerly awaited. Tickets sold out in seconds in Barcelona and their astronomical prices range from 100 to 400 euros, depending on the type of seat and VIP pass. It takes place on 12 May 2026 at 20:00, at the Palau Sant Jordi, and doors usually open 1.5 to 2 hours beforehand (approximately 18:00 - 18:30).

The group’s tour goes through various cities, around the world, Europe and stops in Barcelona. Such is its importance that, in 2023, TWICE was the first female K-pop group to headline a concert at a United States stadium and received the Breakthrough Artist Award at Billboard’s Women In Music event that same year.

Their fifth world tour, between 2023 and 2024, was Ready To Be and brought together 1.5 million fans across a total of 51 concerts in 27 cities. In 2025, their fourth album, This is For, gives its name to their world tour, which runs until spring 2026.

Their concert is 360°, that is, with a central, rotating stage, lights, screens and lots of choreography. A show in which they are the stars, with costume changes, dances, different style touches, and closeness to the audience of the K-pop phenomenon, now unstoppable around the world.

Some curiosities about TWICE

The female group has recently made a documentary, which has been shown in cinemas, also in Barcelona, explaining the life of each of its members: when they debuted, their tastes, travels, friendships and also what they usually do beyond singing and dancing. Some of them are popular on social media, have become influencers and are the face of certain clothing and beauty brands.

These are the members of Twice: Nayeon is from Korea and was the first member to debut solo. Jeongyeon, also from Korea, is known for her deep voice, while Momo, from Japan, stands out as an excellent dancer. Sana, Japanese, is very charismatic and Jihyo, Korean, is the group’s leader (this means she has been at the record company the longest).

Mina is also Japanese, elegant and calm; Dahyun, from Korea, is famous for her sense of humour and also known for being an actress; Chaeyoung, from Korea, is creative and artistic; and Tzuyu, from Taiwan, is the youngest and very popular with her fans.
