Festi que Faltava transforms Sant Andreu with ten hours of music by women

This Saturday, Sant Andreu becomes the epicentre of women’s music with the second edition of El Festi que Faltava. The event, which is committed to making women artists’ talent visible, offers ten hours of free concerts at Fabra i Coats, from midday until well into the night. The event promises to transform the neighbourhood into a meeting point for those seeking new voices and cultural experiences at no cost.

The programme begins at 12:00 with the La Cara B collective, which will liven up the atmosphere with a selection of vinyl records. Throughout the day, the public will discover emerging acoustic proposals and large-format performances, with notable names such as Raquel Lúa, Paula Peso, Marta Mena, Marta Duran and Maruja Limón. The final stretch of the festival will be marked by Maruja Limón’s energy, a live performance by Les Que Faltaband and a DJ Trapella set to close the day.

El Festi que Faltava is not limited to music. The venue will host a craftswomen’s market that is growing compared with the previous year, bringing together around twenty local creators of jewellery, illustration, ceramics and fashion. In addition, this edition adds an outdoor area with food trucks and a bar, intended for those who want to enjoy the atmosphere all day.

Les Que Faltaband, the group behind the festival, is made up of eight women who since 2022 have performed on stages throughout Catalonia with a self-managed project. Their aim is to share their collective spirit, weave networks and make women’s talent visible in music and other creative disciplines.

This type of initiative greatly enriches the leisure of Barcelona’s residents: it offers a full day of culture, live music and community gathering without spending a euro, making everyday life more varied, interesting and accessible, especially in a neighbourhood such as Sant Andreu that gains visibility and vitality thanks to self-managed, women-led proposals such as this.
