Hotel Reina Victoria clears out its interior ahead of a year of renovations
The iconic Hotel ME Madrid Reina Victoria, on Plaza de Santa Ana, is preparing for a temporary closure that will last twelve months. Ahead of its imminent full renovation, the historic building will empty its rooms and common areas in a large public sale, offering more than 10,000 pieces of furniture and decorative items to anyone at prices far below their original value.
The building, inaugurated in 1920 and famous for being a meeting point for bullfighters who would get dressed there before heading to Las Ventas, is entering a new phase after being acquired by the Fondo Soberano de Abu Dabi and the Accor group. The renovation will begin in the autumn, but before that, there will be a clearance sale offering everything from chesterfield sofas and Eames-style armchairs to designer lamps, exclusive headboards, and complete beds.
The event will take place from 5 to 7 September 2025 on the ground floor of the hotel, with access at Plaza de Santa Ana, 14. On Friday, it will be open from 16:00 to 21:00, while on Saturday and Sunday it will run from 10:00 to 20:30. Smaller items can be taken away immediately, and larger furniture can be collected on 9 and 10 September, with the option to request delivery service in Madrid and the surrounding area.
