Madrid's iconic Metrópolis reopens as a luxury private club in 2026

The emblematic Metrópolis building, at the junction of Alcalá Street and Gran Vía, is beginning a new phase: it will reopen in January 2026 as a luxury private club managed by Grupo Paraguas, a benchmark in high-end dining in Madrid. Access will be exclusive to members, although part of the ground floor will be open to the general public.

The renovation will turn Metrópolis into a 6,000-square-metre boutique hotel, with just 19 rooms and seven dining spaces. Members will enjoy absolute priority in all areas, according to the owners, Sandro Silva and Marta Seco.

The club will offer a continuous programme of music, gastronomy, art and wellbeing, with private activities and events intended to inspire and move its members. The maximum capacity will be 1,283 people, according to the project approved by Madrid City Council.

The 1,500-square-metre ground floor will be the only area accessible to Madrid residents and visitors, allowing everyone to get to know part of this new benchmark of luxury in the capital.

Club Metrópolis will join an international circuit of exclusive spaces, bringing together select profiles from around the world. The annual programme will include cultural events, private gatherings and gastronomic offerings, positioning the building as an embassy of Madrid culture and lifestyle.

With this project, Grupo Paraguas is expanding its presence in the city. Since its first restaurant in 2004, the company has committed to unique concepts such as Ten con Ten, Ultramarinos Quintín, Amazónico and The Jazz Club. The new club will maintain the standards of luxury and excellence that characterise the group, transforming a historic building into the epicentre of exclusivity in Madrid.
