Madrid launches a week of jazz with 18 concerts in venues across the city
Madrid is preparing for a week with jazz in the spotlight. Between 28 April and 3 May, the city hosts 18 concerts in nine venues as part of INTERNATIONAL JAZZ DAY 2026, with offerings ranging from the most classic sound to contemporary fusions.
The programme brings together local and international artists in various venues, establishing the concert hall format as the core of the experience. The aim is to bring jazz to a wide range of audiences and strengthen its presence in the city's cultural calendar.
One of the highlights is guitarist Álex Cobos, who will present new, unreleased music during the series. On 30 April, he will perform with Alein Steinbert at Café El Despertar, in a concert that will mark the debut of his new work.
The event also connects with the digital world through initiatives like the #MEVSessions, where parts of the setlists are previewed. In this context, Cobos performs pieces such as All of You de Cole Porter and his own composition Blue Serenade, both of which will be included in the live show.
