The Great Plant Sale returns to Madrid with specimens from €0.99
The Salamanca district will be green again on the first weekend of September. Plantes Pour Tous’s Great Plant Sale will return to Madrid from Friday the 4th to Sunday the 6th with thousands of specimens from €0.99 and free admission with compulsory reservation.
The market will once again set up at Espacio 23, at number 23 General Oráa street. For three days, the venue will operate as a large temporary nursery with more than 150 varieties aimed both at people looking for their first plant and at those who have already turned their living room, terrace or desk into a small collection.
The selection includes easy-care plants, varieties that need little light, unusual species and options suitable for homes with pets. There will also be pots, planters and other accessories for those who want to leave with the complete set and not limit their visit to a single plant.
Prices will start at 0.99 euros and a significant proportion of the specimens will cost under 10 euros. The organisers warn, however, that stock is not replenished as it sells out, so attending during the earliest slots may increase the chances of finding certain varieties.
On Friday 4, the market will open from 11:00 to 19:30; on Saturday 5, from 10:00 to 20:00; and on Sunday 6, from 11:00 to 18:00. Entry is free, but booking an access slot in advance will be essential. Inside the venue, payment will only be possible by card.
The visit also makes it possible to choose plants according to the real conditions of each home. There will be specimens suited to low-light corners, others needing bright rooms and alternatives for people looking for hardy, easy-care species. A useful detail in a city where many flats have small balconies or interiors with limited light.
The space is accessible and also allows pets to enter. For anyone considering taking home a large plant, it is worth bearing the journey home in mind: General Oráa is well connected by public transport, but carrying a bulky specimen can turn the trip into a small expedition.
During that first weekend of September, Espacio 23 will temporarily replace the neighbourhood's usual offerings with leaves, cacti, pots and plants of every size. A simple plan for people who want to return from their holidays having refreshed their home without having to leave Madrid in search of a nursery.
