Metro de Madrid launches 50,000 F1 cards and a collection starting at 24.95 euros

Formula 1 has also arrived at Metro de Madrid. Coinciding with the Gran Premio de España taking place from 11 to 13 September at MADRING, Madrid’s transport system is releasing 50,000 limited edition commemorative cards, a special map for getting to the circuit, and sales points for a clothing collection inspired by the competition.

The special cards will be available at the Sol, Gran Vía, Nuevos Ministerios and Feria de Madrid stations, as well as at the main transport interchanges. The Consorcio Regional de Transportes has prepared 50,000 units for this first edition of the Gran Premio at the Madrid circuit.

Alongside these, Metro has produced a special map dedicated to Formula 1. In addition to the usual network, it includes the full MADRING route, recommended stations for accessing the venue, different transport alternatives, and the approximate walking time from each point to the entrances.

The arrival of the competition also coincides with a collection of products that combines some of Metro’s recognisable symbols with references to the single-seaters and the circuit. Although the line was originally launched in July, during the three days of the Gran Premio it will also be available at special points set up at Feria de Madrid and Nuevos Ministerios.

The official Metro shop is offering T-shirts from the Formula 1 collection for €24.95. Among the designs are models that combine the historic Gran Vía entrance with the competition, or use the slogan “Faster” alongside the Metro’s graphic identity.

Sweatshirts from the same series cost €49.95, and there are designs featuring a circuit alongside Metro elements. F1-related caps are sold for €24.95. The availability of sizes and models may vary depending on the shop.

The collection is usually available at the official Metro shops at Sol, Plaza de Castilla y Ópera, and also through its online shop. Since July, there has also been a shop in the duty free area of Terminal 4 at Barajas airport.

Interest in products featuring the Metro’s image has grown strongly in recent years. According to the Comunidad de Madrid, sales at the official shops increased by 118% in 2026 compared to the same period the previous year. One of the most popular products has been the commemorative Metro trainers, with more than 1,400 pairs sold.

The commemorative items arrive as the network faces one of its busiest weekends. During the Gran Premio, Metro has planned reinforcements of up to 250% on lines 4, 5 and 8. L8, which goes directly to Feria de Madrid, will also run with six-car trains to increase its usual capacity by 50%.

Feria de Madrid and Nuevos Ministerios will have special information points throughout the three days to answer questions about routes, timetables and fares. These will also be the places where fans can find the collection of products linked to Formula 1 while the first Gran Premio at MADRING is underway.
