Barcelona is preparing to commemorate the 700 years of the Reial Monestir de Santa Maria de Pedralbes, one of the city’s most emblematic heritage sites. Next Wednesday, 4 March, at 12:00, the special programme of activities that will mark this historic anniversary will be revealed.
The official presentation will take place in the monastery’s Sala d’Actes, with the participation of key figures from the cultural sphere: the councillor for Cultura y Industrias Creativas, Xavier Marcé; the director general of the Generalitat’s Patrimoni Cultural, Joaquim Borràs; and the director of the Museu Monestir de Pedralbes, Anna Castellano. Before the event, at 11:50, the media will be able to take an exclusive photograph in the cloister with the members of the 7th Centenary Comité de Honor.
The event promises to reveal an agenda packed with cultural proposals, visits and activities designed to bring the monastery’s history closer to the public and highlight its legacy within Barcelona’s urban fabric.
