The Museo del Romanticismo reopens in Madrid amid works and maximum anticipation

The Museo del Romanticismo, one of Madrid's most emblematic cultural spaces, is welcoming visitors again after a sudden closure at the end of January. The closure was due to deficiencies detected during a routine technical inspection, which made immediate preventive measures necessary.

After twenty days of uncertainty and exhaustive reviews, the museum has decided to partially reopen its doors. The decision comes as preparations are being finalised for an emergency intervention in the building, which will begin in approximately one month and last for around 20 months, with a budget of two million euros.

The works will focus mainly on the façade on Beneficencia Street and several adjoining spaces affected by the structural problems detected. Despite the scale of the refurbishment, the museum management assures that the safety of visitors and staff will be guaranteed at all times.

During the works period, the usual route through the permanent collection will be modified. However, the temporary exhibition rooms will remain open and the cultural programme will continue, adapting to the new circumstances.

The partial reopening of the Museo del Romanticismo marks the start of a period full of challenges and changes, in which cultural activity does not stop despite the works under way.
