Thyssen Museum launches a new creative challenge: transform its works and win prizes

The #VersionaThyssen contest returns strongly to encourage young artists to reinterpret classical art from a contemporary perspective on social media.

The Museo Nacional Thyssen-Bornemisza is once again launching one of its most innovative and popular initiatives: the #VersionaThyssen competition. In this edition, young people aged between 16 and 35 are invited to reinterpret some of the museum collection’s most iconic works and share their creations on Instagram. The proposal, which combines classical art with digital creativity, seeks to connect new generations with the pictorial heritage from a free and personal perspective.

Participants can choose from six works selected by the museum and present their versions in any visual format — painting, illustration, collage, photography or digital art — provided they publish them with the #VersionaThyssen hashtag and tag the museum. The most outstanding proposals will be awarded prizes at a special event held at the museum itself, where some of the finalist versions can also be seen.

Beyond the prize, the true value of the competition lies in its ability to build bridges between the art of the past and new forms of contemporary expression. An essential date for emerging creators and art lovers with an innovative spirit.
