Passeig de Gràcia will unveil a monumental Christmas tree with a star inspired by the Sagrada Família

In the Jardinets de Gràcia, where the Passeig opens onto the Diagonal, a monumental twelve-metre tree will rise like a festive beacon, crowned by a two-and-a-half-metre star inspired by the one that shines above the Sagrada Família. More than 13,000 LED lights will wrap around its structure, designed by DEIN in collaboration with Casa SEAT and the Asociación del Passeig de Gràcia, in an installation that brings together Christmas magic and the genius of Antoni Gaudí.

But this tree does not only announce the festivities: it also begins a story. Its light will serve as a prelude to Gaudí Year 2026, which will commemorate the centenary of the architect's death and Barcelona's designation as world capital of design and architecture. «We want this tree to be a luminous offering to creativity and the city,» explains Lluís Sans, president of the association.

The official switching-on of the lights will be held on Saturday 22 November, when the whole city regains its winter glow. Until 6 January 2026, Passeig de Gràcia will shine every night — from 17:30 to 1:00, and until 2:00 at weekends and on public holidays — becoming a promenade of stars in the heart of the Eixample.

And, as in every great story, there will be music and movement: on 5, 6, 12, 13, 19 and 20 December, the Sis Arcs and Insòlits companies will transform the avenue into a living stage of theatre, dance and light.
