Madrid opens a free exhibition with works by Warhol and Lichtenstein
Madrid gains a new free cultural offering this spring. Opera Gallery Madrid is hosting ‘Pim Pam Pop’, an exhibition bringing together major names in international and Spanish pop art, with free admission until 25 April.
The exhibition includes works by leading figures such as Andy Warhol, Roy Lichtenstein, Keith Haring and Takashi Murakami, alongside key figures on the national scene such as Pedro Almodóvar, Equipo Crónica and Juan Genovés. The tour makes it possible to see pieces that rarely coincide in the same space in the city.
The exhibition's discourse combines the international view of pop art with its Spanish version, more critical and linked to the social and political context. The result is a direct visual proposal, where mass culture and art converse in an accessible format.
The exhibition can be visited Monday to Saturday with extended opening hours, with no booking required. Its location in the heart of the Salamanca neighbourhood makes it an easy stop both for those who work in the area and for those touring the city centre.
