The first weekend of August arrives in Madrid with heat and highs of up to 37 degrees
The first weekend of August will be marked by heat in Madrid. After several days of extreme temperatures, the city will continue to enjoy a fully summery atmosphere, with mostly clear skies, plenty of sunshine, and highs once again reaching close to 37 degrees. Although the most intense spell is starting to lose strength, the heat will still affect outdoor plans.
Saturday 1 August is expected to be stable and dry. Temperatures will range from a low of 23 degrees to a high of 37, with clear skies for most of the day and a light wind that will barely ease the perceived temperature during the middle hours. The chance of rain will be virtually nil.
Summery weather will continue on Sunday 2 August, albeit with a slight drop in temperatures. Thermometers will be around 35 degrees during the afternoon and lows will fall to around 22 degrees. Some high cloud is expected, with no significant risk of rainfall, maintaining a very dry and sunny atmosphere.
The hottest hours will once again be concentrated between two in the afternoon and seven in the evening, so those planning to walk, exercise or attend outdoor activities will find conditions much more pleasant early in the morning or at dusk.
It will also be a favourable weekend for enjoying terraces, swimming pools and parks, although the usual recommendations should be followed: drink fluids regularly, avoid prolonged exposure to the Sun and take particular care of children, older people and those with chronic illnesses.
Winds will generally be light and no significant adverse phenomena are expected. Atmospheric stability will favour calm conditions both in the capital and across the rest of the Comunidad de Madrid, with good visibility and no rain.
