Las Rosas reports noise and gridlock from Bad Bunny concerts in Madrid
Bad Bunny’s concerts at Riyadh Air Metropolitano have revived neighbourhood discontent in Las Rosas and Las Musas. During major events, the area changes completely: gridlocked traffic, closed streets and noise until dawn.
The problem has intensified with the ten dates scheduled between late May and mid-June. Pressure on the neighbourhood has grown in recent years, especially after the reduction in concerts at Santiago Bernabéu, which has shifted part of the activity to the Metropolitano.
The Las Musas-Las Rosas Neighbourhood Association denounces that every event exceeds permitted noise levels and causes an accumulation of rubbish and mobility difficulties. According to its explanation, the stadium’s structure, with large side openings, amplifies the sound and worsens the impact on nearby homes.
The conflict has already reached the Ombudsman. The body accepted the neighbourhood complaint for consideration and has requested information from Madrid City Council, after years of claims without a definitive solution.
Residents also point out that the neighbourhood is not prepared to absorb the massive arrival of attendees. On concert days, access routes become saturated, parking spaces disappear and mobility becomes difficult both for residents and workers.
In addition, they recall that the stadium does not have a permanent licence for concerts, so each event requires extraordinary authorisations. These make it possible to relax noise limits in the cultural interest, a measure that residents consider insufficient to protect their rest.
Each concert involves traffic closures, more noise and difficulties moving around or parking in the area. The conflict remains open and will depend on the measures adopted by the City Council in the coming weeks.
