Sant Pau Modernista Site opens free of charge for its 625th anniversary in Barcelona

This Sunday, Sant Pau celebrates 625 years with free admission and concerts. Families and healthcare staff will be able to enjoy unique activities. The event pays tribute to historical figures and the evolution of the hospital. Prior registration is compulsory.

This Sunday, the Recinto Modernista de Sant Pau becomes Barcelona's cultural epicentre as it celebrates 625 years since the foundation of the Hospital de la Santa Creu i Sant Pau. The day promises a unique experience with free access, intended both for families and for those who are part of the hospital, in surroundings that breathe history and modernism.

The programme begins with a storytelling session dedicated to nurse Adela Simón, a key figure in Barcelona healthcare, to be held at three different times in the Pau Gil room. The activity, aimed at children aged five and over, requires prior registration and will allow attendees to discover the hospital's human legacy before touring the complex and joining the other activities.

Music will take centre stage throughout the day. Cor Vivaldi will give two performances in the Domènech i Montaner room, revisiting emblematic moments in the hospital's history. In the gardens, the Ara Martí Quartet will fill the atmosphere with jazz, boleros and bossa nova, while Fundación Victoria de los Ángeles will organise a lied jam with live singers and pianists. The rhythm will continue with Asociación BCN Swing, which will encourage attendees to dance swing to a live band in the heart of the garden area.
