Street Dreams returns ten years later with international rap in Rivas
Street Dreams Festival returns this Saturday 5 September after ten years without being held. From 12:00, the Miguel Ríos Auditorium in Rivas-Vaciamadrid will host a day devoted to rap and hip-hop culture with Spanish, French and American artists, as well as spaces linked to graffiti and food offerings.
The return has a specific precedent. The last edition was held on 10 September 2016 in La Aldehuela, in Fuenlabrada. It was the festival’s fourth edition and brought together names such as Onyx, Morodo, Capaz, Elio Toffana and Hard GZ, alongside graffiti, BMX and breakdance displays.
Ten years later, the line-up once again mixes different generations. The main international attractions include Rim’K, a veteran of French rap and member of 113 and Mafia K’1 Fry, alongside La Coka Nostra, the American group arriving as part of its 20th-anniversary tour.
The stage will also feature N-Wise Allah, Faenna, Chirie Vegas, Denom, Grind, Sosad, Dolores & Mazmorras, Solo K.OS and La Reina Mora. The announced programme also includes Kaloncha Sound and DJ Gaston, in a day planned to continue from midday onwards.
Music will not be the venue’s only component. The organisers present Street Dreams as an urban-culture gathering where graffiti and streetwear will also be present, while the festival’s local information confirms the installation of stalls and a food offering. However, an exact repeat of the BMX or breakdance competitions that formed part of the 2016 edition has not been announced.
Tickets remain on sale in tiers. Mutick’s official sales channel currently shows tickets from 30 euros, while the festival website also announces VIP options and special packages. The price may vary as sales progress, so I would not retain the 35 euros in the draft as a fixed reference.
Minors may attend, but they must do so accompanied by their father, mother or duly accredited legal guardian and complete the corresponding documentation at the entrance. The organisers define the event as suitable for all audiences.
Auditorio Miguel Ríos is located on Paseo de Alicia Alonso, in Rivas-Vaciamadrid. Those arriving from Madrid by public transport should bear in mind that the Rivas Futura Metro station, on L9, is around 2.1 kilometres and about a 26-minute walk from the venue. The intercity routes 330, 332 and 334 also pass through the area, as does the N302 night service.
The event will take place only on Saturday 5 September and will start at 12:00. Four days before the festival, the organisers are keeping the line-up closed and sales active, making the return of Street Dreams one of the most distinctive hip-hop events of this first weekend in September in the Comunidad de Madrid.
