Madrid invites you to discover theatre from the inside with exclusive activities
This week, Madrid is transformed into a grand stage with theatre experiences that go beyond the traditional performance. From 23 to 27 March, iconic venues open their doors for guided tours, staged readings, and meetings with artists.
The epicentre of the programme is at Teatros del Canal, where free tours are organised through areas usually closed to the public. Activities such as a reading of El invitado or the Emerging Playwriting series, which brings new voices closer to audiences, also stand out.
One of the key moments will arrive on Friday the 27th with La vida extraordinaria, starring Malena Alterio and Carmen Ruiz, which will include a meeting with the audience after the performance. On that same day, tickets will have a 25% discount, making the programme more accessible.
The programme extends beyond the capital. In San Lorenzo de El Escorial, the Real Coliseo Carlos III offers dramatised tours, while in Alcalá de Henares the Corral de Comedias opens its doors to show its history and host new performances.
The programme coincides with the Teatralia festival and with exhibitions such as the one devoted to Valle-Inclán at the Regional Library, broadening the cultural offering across the region.
During these days, theatre leaves its usual format and becomes part of city life. Visiting backstage, talking with actors or walking through historic halls changes the way culture is experienced, with a programme that invites visitors to discover Madrid from another perspective.
