Tibidabo will add a new icon: «Barcelona» in giant letters above the viewing point
Tibidabo Amusement Park is preparing to add a new visual attraction to its panoramic experience: giant letters bearing the city’s name, to be installed at the site’s most emblematic viewing point, with privileged views over Barcelona’s urban layout.
The aim is clear: to offer visitors an iconic image that captures the spirit of the city from its highest point in a single photograph. The letters, two metres high and backlit with LED technology, will make it possible to take photographs both during the day and at night. They will also be designed as independent pieces, so that people can stand between them or interact with the set to achieve the perfect snapshot.
The initiative, conceived by architect Josep Miàs — also the author of the Cuca de Llum — is currently at the municipal tender stage. Two of the letters, the C and the O, will literally hang over the void beyond the viewpoint railing, enhancing the visual and photographic effect.
