Lustau's Vermut Rojo 2023 chosen as best vermouth of 2025 by the Spanish wine press
The Spanish wine press has chosen the vermouth that in 2025 has become one of the main references for lovers of the classic flavour.
The best vermouth of 2025 according to Spain’s specialist wine press is the 2023 Vermut Rojo from the Jerez winery Lustau. The award was granted by the Asociación de Periodistas y Escritores del Vino de España, which highlighted the drink’s consistent quality, already recognised with the same title in 2021.
The vermouth is made from Jerez wines, including amontillado and Pedro Ximénez, and its profile is built on the precise balance of botanicals macerated separately. The result is a vermouth with an intense yet smooth character, with fruity and spicy notes and a slightly bitter finish.
Behind its production is the oenologist Sergio Martínez, one of the most recognised names in the Jerez region. The distinction obtained in 2025 once again reinforces Lustau’s position as one of the great benchmarks of Spanish vermouth.
