Madrid has chosen the best 2026 Roscón de Reyes
This year, Madrid’s Roscón de Reyes has a new favourite: a dessert that has won over the jury with its delicate orange blossom water aroma and impeccable balance of flavours.
In Madrid, the best Roscón de Reyes 2026 has been chosen: the winner was the Doble Uve Obrador bakery. The roscón prevailed in a blind tasting, beating 12 finalists and receiving a high score from the jury for its balance of flavours, delicate texture and orange-blossom-water aroma, unusual this year.
The creator of the winning dessert is the bakery's founder, Paloma Silvestrin. Second and third place went to La Crujiente and Marea Bread, regular participants in the competition, who come closer to the top every year.
The final was held in Plaza Mayor, at the historic Casa de la Panadería. The winner will donate the championship prize —€2,500 in products— to a charitable organisation.
