In Madrid, admission to the Museo Nacional de Antropología is free until the end of October
In Madrid, until the end of October, you can see the unique exhibits of the Museo Nacional de Antropología for free, from the skeleton of the “Giant of Extremadura” to African masks and Amazonian instruments.
Until 31 October, in honour of the 150th anniversary of the National Museum of Anthropology in Madrid, the permanent exhibition can be visited free of charge. The exhibits include ritual figures, the skeleton of the “Giant of Extremadura”, Amazonian musical instruments, African masks and Haitian voodoo objects.
The Ministry of Culture initiative makes it possible to discover pieces from the cultures of all five continents, collected over more than a century of the museum's history.
Initially inaugurated in 1875 as the “Anatomical Museum”, it was founded by Dr Pedro González de Velázquez and has since been enriched with more than 7,900 pieces. Since 1993, the museum has borne its current name and continues to represent the richness of the cultural heritage of the whole world.
