Madrid will suspend rubbish collection during the holidays

Madrid residents are being asked to plan ahead and manage when they put out their waste: on Christmas Eve (the afternoon of 24 December), Christmas Day (25 December) and during the New Year holidays (31 December and 1 January), there will be no urban cleaning service.

After the holidays, from the night of 25 December and throughout the 26th, services will step up their work to remove accumulated rubbish quickly. The administration asks people not to leave bags or bins in public streets on the indicated days and at the indicated times.

Special attention will be paid to major festive events: at the San Silvestre Vallecana race and the Three Kings parade there will be additional crews and machinery so that streets remain clean even during mass celebrations.
