In Madrid, a concierge accidentally found a lost Picasso painting
A Picasso painting thought to be lost was unexpectedly discovered by a concierge, who mistook the masterpiece for an ordinary package
In the Chamartín neighbourhood, the caretaker Dolores, originally from Peru, found a wrapped package next to the building's door and took it to the office, thinking it belonged to a resident. Days later, it was discovered that it contained a missing painting by Pablo Picasso.
After the discovery, the woman and her husband were questioned by the police, who suspected a possible connection with the thieves. The couple maintain that they simply found the package at the entrance. They now fear for their reputation and no longer agree to take charge of packages.
The canvas has already been returned to its rightful owner, thanks to the caretaker's attentiveness, which accidentally saved the masterpiece.
