A new Cercanías Soto Sur station will be built in Soto del Real
A modern Cercanías Soto Sur station will be built in Soto del Real, connecting the neighbourhood with Madrid and becoming a landmark for nearby municipalities.
The Ministry of Transport is allocating 17.6 million euros to the construction of the new suburban rail station in Soto del Real, which will be the terminus of the C-4b line from Colmenar Viejo and will serve nearby localities such as Miraflores de la Sierra and Guadalix de la Sierra.
The new station will combine the refurbished building of the former 1955 station with modern amenities and additional structures: a café and technical facilities. The main building will have more than 400 m² and will include a concourse, ticket office, toilets, platform canopies and an underpass with lifts and stairs.
The northern part of the station will house a new building with a café, while two technical blocks will be built to the south. Outside, a car park with 513 spaces will be built, including 16 for people with reduced mobility; the cycle lane will be restored and a stop for other forms of transport will be provided.
