Spain creates the National Health Data Space
Spain has launched the National Health Data Space (ENDS), a platform where doctors, researchers and companies will be able to access and share medical information securely.
The project involves an investment of 70 million euros and will connect the healthcare systems of the autonomous communities with research centres and private entities through common data exchange protocols. The platform will make it possible to work with large volumes of information under strict ethical standards, supporting the development of new treatments, disease prevention, and the improvement of health programmes. In addition, ENDS will incorporate artificial intelligence and advanced analytics tools to boost biomedical research in Spain.
This system is aligned with the Espacio Europeo de Datos de Salud, ensuring that information can be shared securely between countries. With ENDS, Spain is positioning itself at the forefront of health data management and utilisation, combining information security with scientific and clinical progress.
