19 Barcelona libraries will open during Holy Week with special hours

The measure aims to support those who need spaces for studying or reading during days when the city’s pace changes. From 30 March to 2 April, these centres will open with schedules adapted to each district, combining morning and afternoon hours.

In areas such as Ciutat Vella or Eixample, several libraries will offer full-day opening, while in districts like Sarrià-Sant Gervasi or Nou Barris, some study rooms will extend their hours into the evening, making it easier for people preparing for exams or working on personal projects to access them.

The network will also remain active in neighbourhoods like Gràcia, Horta-Guinardó, Sant Andreu, or Sant Martí, where different centres will ensure nearby alternatives for residents. In some cases, libraries will have extended hours or specific services to meet demand.

During the general closure days, return drop boxes will not be available, so it is recommended to plan visits in advance to avoid any issues.

In a city where libraries serve as spaces for study, meeting, and access to culture, this adaptation allows part of the activity to continue even on holidays, providing continuity for thousands of users who rely on these services in their daily lives.
