Barcelona families can apply from today for up to 450 euros for extracurricular activities
Families in Barcelona can apply from this Tuesday, 15 September, for municipal aid for extracurricular activities for the 2026-2027 school year. The application period will remain open until 8 October and covers both the Tardes Educativas programme and sports activities outside school hours.
In the case of Tardes Educativas, the grant can cover 30%, 60%, or 90% of the eligible price, depending on the level of support assigned to the family. For participating activities, the amount can reach up to 450 euros per student during the school year.
The programme includes cultural, artistic, scientific, and technological activities for children and teenagers. Theatre, music, dance, artistic creation, and other activities can benefit from these grants as long as the organising entity is accredited within Tardes Educativas.
There is, however, an important condition. The application period now opening is not available to all families from scratch: to apply for the grant, it was necessary to have previously completed the process of assigning the level of support between 15 January and 11 February 2026.
Families who already have this level must now complete a second process for the specific activity in which the child is enrolled. Having an approved grant percentage does not mean the support is granted automatically.
To apply, you need the identity document used in the first process, the identification code of the child or teenager, and the code of the chosen activity. The procedure can be completed through the Oficina Virtual de Trámites or via the municipal 010 service.
Each child can apply for support for one sports activity and another for a Tardes Educativas activity. If a family has several children who meet the requirements, a separate application must be made for each one.
The City Council has set aside 600,000 euros for Tardes Educativas during the 2026-2027 school year, as part of the municipal support package for out-of-school activities. Sports grants have a separate allocation.
The decision will be communicated to families at a later date, and the amount granted is applied through the organising entity of the activity. For this reason, those who already have an assigned level of support now have just over three weeks to complete the second process and avoid losing the grant.
