Fuenlabrada boosts its education fair with more options for families and students

Fuenlabrada's education calendar is being renewed this week with the arrival of a new edition of Aula, the fair that each year turns the Centro Tomás y Valiente into a meeting point for those seeking information about their children's academic future. Organised by the Department of Education, the event is tailored to the needs of each stage, from starting school to the move into university or vocational training.

On Tuesday, Aula 1 and Aula 2 open their doors to those facing the transition from primary to secondary school or preparing to choose between Bachillerato, vocational training or university. Families of pupils in the sixth year of primary school will be able to find out first-hand how the city's state secondary schools work, what subjects and options they offer and how the enrolment process works. Information talks start at 17:00 in the cultural centre's theatre, while students finishing compulsory secondary education (ESO), vocational training (FP) or Bachillerato will have their own session from 16:30, with talks on access to degree courses and university guidance.

One of the most practical moments will come with the First dates Profesional initiative, where volunteer professionals will share their work experiences and advice in 90 seconds for those seeking real-world career guidance. From 18:00, the area outside the centre will fill with information stands: secondary schools, Madrid's public universities, the Escuela Oficial de Idiomas, security forces, the Army, the Local Police and vocational training organisations will be on hand to answer questions and show possible pathways.

Wednesday will be the turn of Aula 0-6, designed for families enrolling their children for the first time in nursery schools, state schools or Casas de Niños y Niñas. The day begins at 17:00 with a performance by pupils from CEIP Francisco de Goya and continues with information on enrolment, educational projects, timetables and programmes to support diverse needs. For the youngest children, the afternoon includes a special activity: they can discover and climb aboard Local Police and Civil Protection vehicles, an experience that usually sparks as much curiosity as it does smiles.

The Aula Fuenlabrada fair has established itself as a key event for those seeking educational guidance without leaving the south of Madrid. Its format, combining talks, first-hand experiences and contact with professionals, meets the demand for clear, accessible information at a time when many families face important decisions.
