Glòries will unveil in 2026 the first metro entrance integrated into a museum
Barcelona is preparing to inaugurate an unprecedented metro access point: the future entrance to L1 at Glòries, located on the ground floor of the Museu del Disseny (DHub).
It will be the first access point in the network to connect directly with a cultural facility, scheduled to open in summer 2026.
The 380 m² lobby will function as a transitional space between transport and culture. The project, designed by AMOO STUDIO, is committed to a fluid and accessible layout, with integrated ceiling lighting, large audiovisual screens, clear signage and all the necessary technical systems.
As well as making travel easier, the space will become a new meeting point for residents: it will include the station bar and a multifunctional bench intended as an entrance hall to the museum.
The access point will be open from 9 am to 9 pm — opening later at 3:30 pm on Mondays — and will have a budget of €1.1 million. Works, which will begin at the start of 2026, will last for six months.
