Five bus routes change course because of Alfons XIII works in Badalona
Works to transform Alfons XIII Avenue will require several bus routes in Badalona to change from this Monday 3 August. The changes will particularly affect Sant Roc, Artigues and La Salut, where some stops will be temporarily cancelled.
Lines B25, M26, M30 and N11 will be diverted towards central Badalona via Joan XXIII Avenue, Corts Catalanes and Marquès de Mont-roig Avenue. They will then return to their usual route after passing the section under construction.
In the opposite direction, these buses will travel along Alfons XIII as far as Jumilla Street and continue along Corts Catalanes and Joan XXIII. Users should pay attention to the temporary signage and locate alternative stops before starting their journey.
The B23 will also undergo major changes. Towards Barcelona, it will avoid the affected section entirely and will travel along López de Vega Street, Pare Poveda Avenue, Generalitat Avenue and Pollancreda Promenade, already in Santa Coloma de Gramenet.
Line B3 will likewise adapt its routes. Towards Llefià, it will travel along Joan Valera and Marquès de Sant Mori, while towards central Badalona it will use the Antiga de València road.
For now, the diversions have no specific end date. Their duration will depend on the progress of the works, so routes and cancelled stops may change as the works move along the avenue.
The intervention will reduce Alfons XIII from four to two lanes and will make it possible to widen pavements, add a cycle lane in both directions and create new areas for staying. Lighting and part of the sewerage network will also be renewed.
The works seek to turn an old traffic-dominated road into a more comfortable promenade for pedestrians and cyclists. Until they are completed, the change will be felt in longer journeys, relocated stops and less direct mobility for thousands of users in nearby neighbourhoods.
