Hofmann arrives in the centro de Madrid with its first patisserie and café

The arrival of Hofmann at the Galería de Canalejas marks a new meeting point for lovers of creative patisserie in Madrid. Iconic cakes and award-winning chocolates are now within reach for those looking for a sweet treat in the heart of the city.

Madrid is gaining a new must-visit for those with a sweet tooth: Hofmann, Barcelona's most award-winning signature patisserie, is opening its first shop in the exclusive Galería de Canalejas (a stone's throw from Puerta del Sol). The opening is planned for after Easter, in April 2026.

In 140 m² premises with tables beneath the atrium's historic art deco stained-glass window (capacity for ~40 people), Madrid residents will be able to try the following for the first time without travelling:

Signature cakes such as the Sacher or the original Dark Moon

Filled croissants (the star product since 2008)

Top-quality artisan pastries

Chocolates in boxes perfect for gifts

Some savoury bites inspired by its Michelin-starred restaurant

The space will operate as a café for breakfast, afternoon snacks or sweet breaks at any time, combining sweet and savoury options in the very heart of the city.

The opening responds to growing demand in Madrid and the expansion of the brand, which has just opened a 1,200 m² production centre. Founded in 1983 by Mey Hofmann, the business is also a cookery school and Michelin-starred restaurant, always true to its excellence and creativity.

Hofmann brings to the capital a nationally renowned signature patisserie that until now could only be enjoyed in Barcelona, elevating the luxury sweet offerings in the historic centre. In a city where afternoon snacks and breakfasts are a social ritual, this opening adds a premium, versatile spot for special occasions, unique gifts or simply a daily treat, enriching gastronomic leisure and making the Galería de Canalejas an essential stop for Madrid residents and visitors seeking quality and an experience right in the centre.
