Young chess players will gather in San Sebastián de los Reyes for the V Centenario club tournament
On 7 February, young players will compete in San Sebastián de los Reyes in a tournament that will be their first serious test of strategy and endurance.
On 7 February, San Sebastián de los Reyes will host the V Centenario club’s children’s and youth chess tournament. Young players from the club and residents of the municipality will take part in the competition; the tournament will be held as part of the municipal sports programme.
Matches will be played from 10:00 to 13:30 at the club’s premises, located on Avenida Baunatal. Participants will be divided into age groups, from schoolchildren to cadets, according to their year of birth.
The competition will be held under the Swiss system, and the rapid-game format will make play dynamic and convenient for young chess players. The number of rounds will be determined once registration has closed.
At the end of the tournament, the top three players in each age category will be awarded prizes, separately for boys and girls. Participation is free and applications may be submitted until the afternoon of 6 February.
