Keanu Reeves swaps Hollywood for Barcelona: Dogstar lands at Paral·lel 62 this July

The actor will perform on 7 July 2026 at Paral·lel 62 with Dogstar, the rock band he shares with his lifelong friends and which has become his most cherished project when the cameras are off. The concert will be its only stop in Spain, and tickets—already on sale—look set to sell out quickly.

Although his face is associated with legendary characters, in Dogstar Reeves occupies a less conspicuous position: bass guitar. The stage leadership falls to Brett Domrose (vocals and guitar) and Robert Mailhouse (drums), his companions in musical adventures since the three of them decided, in the early nineties, to form a band influenced by the grunge of the time. They played, released two albums and disappeared without fanfare, swallowed up by adult life and careers that kept them away from the rehearsal room.

The story took an unexpected turn during the pandemic, when the trio reunited and, almost without intending to, began composing again. That impulse gave rise to the album Somewhere Between the Power Lines and Palm Trees (2023), the starting point for a tour that took them around the United States and, surprisingly, Europe as well.

Barcelona, in fact, holds a special chapter in that comeback. Dogstar made its debut here at Primavera Sound 2024, with a live performance that went from viral curiosity to rock revelation, leaving more than one person wanting a second round. That second round now arrives in a venue and behind closed doors, with the added intimacy a festival does not allow.

Reeves does not need to promote this concert: his name alone is enough to generate headlines. But anyone who has seen him live knows that Dogstar does not operate as a celebrity whim, but as a group of three friends who, after decades, still enjoy playing together. And it shows.
