Thousands of people from Madrid will be able to file their tax return free at municipal offices

From this week, those needing help to file their personal income tax return can book an appointment for the free assistance service offered by Madrid City Council and the Tax Agency. Telephone assistance is already available and in-person appointments will begin next 29 May.
The service is intended for those who prefer to deal with one of the year's most important formalities with professional support and at no cost. Assistance is provided at the municipal offices of Madrid's Tax Agency, spread across different parts of the city, and aims to make the process easier especially for older people or taxpayers with greater digital difficulties.
One of the main focuses this year is once again people over 65. To access the service, certain financial requirements must be met. These include not exceeding €80,000 a year in employment income or having real-estate capital below €20,000. In addition, those who have a tax return payable and want to pay by direct debit must do so before 25 June.
