Complutense steps up security after assault by group linked to the Falange
The Universidad Complutense de Madrid is experiencing tense days after the assault on the Facultad de Ciencias Políticas y Sociología, an incident that has disrupted campus life during the week of 8-M.
The police operation, framed within Operación Jauría, has resulted in 13 arrests and several people identified. According to the investigation, the group acted in a coordinated way, breaking into the building, causing damage and removing feminist posters while chanting slogans.
Those arrested, aged between 19 and 27, are linked to the Sindicato Español Universitario. Police attribute offences of public disorder, damage and attacks on fundamental rights to them, in a case that has generated concern in the university community.From the university and institutions, there is insistence that this type of action will not break coexistence. The campus is already reviewing its security protocols to prevent new incidents and guarantee a safe environment for students and staff.
