Chamartín station in Madrid opens a refurbished passenger concourse
The new concourse and restored main entrance turn Chamartín station into a modern, comfortable transport hub for thousands of passengers.
Chamartín-Clara Campoamor station is preparing for a major renovation. Adif has opened an additional 2,112 m² of the main concourse to passengers, which is now covered by a transparent dome, and has restored part of the historic entrance.
The renovations will double the capacity for high-speed trains and create more space for passengers, turning the station into a modern transport hub with comfortable and safe circulation.
The new waiting area in the square in front of the entrance covers 1,325 m², and the concourse, with an area of 6,712 m², is equipped with seating, vending machines, chargers for electronic devices, and modern LED screens with up-to-date train information.
In addition to its functionality, the renovated station offers passengers dining spaces and a comfortable rest area, making journeys easier and more pleasant.
