Madrid fills Cibeles with free music featuring Gipsy Kings and Liz Mitchell at the Fiesta de la Resurrección
Plaza de Cibeles will host a new edition of the Fiesta de la Resurrección on 11 April from 18:30, with Gipsy Kings, Liz Mitchell, Hakuna Group Music and DJ Pulpo at a free event for thousands of people.
The Fiesta de la Resurrección returns to Cibeles with Gipsy Kings and Liz Mitchell. A free event that marks the spring cultural calendar in Madrid. Thousands of people will be able to enjoy live music in the city centre.
Spring in Madrid brings with it an event that has already become essential for those looking for outdoor plans and culture at no cost. On Saturday 11 April, Plaza de Cibeles will become the main stage for the 4th Fiesta de la Resurrección, a free festival aiming to exceed last year’s attendance and establish itself as one of the city’s most significant music events.
From 18:30, the heart of Madrid will come alive with the music of Gipsy Kings, known for their unmistakable blend of flamenco, pop and Latin rhythms, and hits such as 'Bamboléo' and 'Djobi Djoba'. Liz Mitchell, the iconic voice of Boney M., will also take the stage with classics such as 'Rivers of Babylon' and 'Sunny'. The line-up is completed by Hakuna Group Music and DJ Pulpo, who will bring variety and energy to an afternoon designed for all audiences.
The Fiesta de la Resurrección not only adds live music to the Holy Week calendar, but also reinforces the trend of Madrid as a festival capital. The city, increasingly committed to cultural offerings for all tastes, is already preparing other events such as A Summer Story, Río Babel, Mad Cool, Noches del Botánico and Time Warp, which will fill the coming months with rhythm.
Beyond its usual role as a meeting and celebration point, Plaza de Cibeles has established itself in recent years as a space capable of hosting major urban events. Its strategic location and capacity to bring together thousands of people make it a symbol of Madrid’s cultural life. The 4th Fiesta de la Resurrección opens at 17:00 (concert 18:30–21:30) in Plaza Cibeles, organised by ACdP, with Javi Nieves presenting and DJ El Pulpo opening.
A space for people with reduced mobility is reserved (see the official map). The 2025 edition broke the record with 85,000 attendees (Kike Pavón, Beret, Cali...).
