Barcelona cinemas seek to fill seats before summer with a new Fiesta del Cine
Going to the cinema will be much cheaper for four days. Fiesta del Cine returns from Monday 8 to Thursday 11 June 2026 with 3.50-euro tickets in cinemas across Spain, including Barcelona, a perfect opportunity for those who usually wait for discounts or special screenings before buying tickets.
The promotion arrives just before the strong start of summer, when many cinemas try to win back audiences amid commercial releases, family cinema and films seeking to extend their run in theatres. Ticket sales will begin on Wednesday 3 June and can be made both online and at the box office.
One of the keys to this edition is that prior registration will not be necessary. It will be enough to buy a ticket at participating cinemas to access the reduced price, something that greatly simplifies the process and avoids one of the steps that previously deterred some cinema-goers.
Most films currently showing will be included, although some special formats may carry a surcharge. This is usual for 3D, IMAX, 4DX, premium-screening or VIP-seat sessions, according to the conditions of each cinema.
In the city of Barcelona, participating cinemas include Verdi and Verdi Park in Gràcia; Mooby Aribau, Mooby Balmes, Renoir Floridablanca and Cinemes Girona in Eixample; Mooby Bosque and Mooby Gran Sarrià in Zona Alta; Mooby Arenas in Plaza Espanya; Mooby Glòries in Poblenou; Cinesa Diagonal and Cinesa Diagonal Mar; Cinesa Som Multiespai in Nou Barris; Cine Yelmo Westfield La Maquinista in Sant Andreu; Cinemes Texas in Gràcia and Cinema Maldà in the Gòtic, as well as Cinesa Luxe La Farga and Cines Filmax Gran Via in L’Hospitalet de Llobregat.
The Fiesta del Cine has become one of the most recognisable campaigns for encouraging cinema attendance. It began in 2009 and is held twice a year, with the support of industry associations and the Ministry of Culture. At a time when platforms have changed consumption habits, these four days work almost as a reminder of something very simple: seeing a film in a cinema remains a shared plan, not just another screen.
