Formula 1 seeks 200 workers in Madrid: these are the jobs and requirements
Madrid's first Formula 1 Grand Prix also opens up job opportunities. Adecco has launched four recruitment processes to fill 200 temporary positions related to mobility, transport and event organisation, for the event to be held from 11 to 13 September.
The vacancies are spread across mobility and flow-management officers, mobility coordinators, chauffeurs, and driver and fleet managers. All of them will form part of the operation responsible for managing the journeys of attendees, workers, guests and vehicles during one of the busiest weekends expected at Ifema and in its surroundings.
Mobility officers will have to check accreditations, control access for authorised vehicles, guide the public and assist in car parks and waiting areas. They will also take part in signage and resolving minor incidents. These posts require, at a minimum, ESO, a category B driving licence and availability during the Grand Prix. Experience in customer service and English will count in applicants’ favour.
Coordinators will take on greater responsibility and lead the teams deployed in each area. Adecco is seeking profiles accustomed to working with large gatherings of people, able to organise groups, make quick decisions and respond to changes or problems during the day.
Another part of the recruitment concerns chauffeurs who will transport guests, journalists, accredited professionals and members of the organisation in passenger cars, minivans and other vehicles. In this case, a category B licence held for at least two years and an intermediate level of English are required, while previous experience in events, VIP services or professional driving will be valued.
The requirements increase for driver and fleet coordinators. These professionals will organise routes and shifts, allocate vehicles and oversee matters such as fuel, electric charging and the condition of the cars. At least five years holding a category B licence, B2 or C1 English and between three and five years’ experience in transport, logistics or fleet management are required.
The contracts will be temporary and full-time, directly linked to the staging of the Grand Prix. Those selected will receive training before joining and, in the case of mobility officers, this preparation will be paid. The 200 vacancies therefore make it possible to be part of Formula 1’s debut in Madrid from the inside, without needing a technical profile directly related to motorsport.
