The historic Tres Tombs de Sant Antoni parade is postponed because of rain

The Tres Tombs de Sant Antoni parade has no new date. The organisers are suspending the event because rain is forecast. More than one hundred horses and a special carriage had been expected to parade. The 201st anniversary is up in the air. When will the celebration return?

The traditional Tres Tombs de Sant Antoni parade, scheduled for Saturday 24 January, has been postponed without a new date because of rain forecasts. The Federation of the Tres Tombs de Sant Antoni has announced the suspension and said that it will shortly announce when the event will finally be held.

This year, the edition was especially significant: a celebration for the parade's 201st anniversary was being prepared, with the participation of more than a hundred horses and donkeys, as well as a commemorative carriage designed for the occasion. The presence of the historical-reenactment squadron of the Mossos d’Esquadra Historical Service and another 14 carriages from city organisations was also planned.

The organisers have explained that the risk of rain could spoil the ambitious project prepared for this year, conceived as the start of a new stage after the bicentenary. The aim was to give continuity to the celebration in the coming years by recreating distinctive historical carriages and proposals.
