The L4 de Guadarrama extends its route to connect neighbourhoods and schools

The new route will add stops around the Miranieves housing development and Virgen de las Angustias Street, as well as extending the service along Gustavo Adolfo Bécquer, the Víctimas del Terrorismo roundabout and Fuente del Espino.

The change will bring the bus closer to residents who until now had to walk further to reach a stop and, at the same time, will strengthen access to Colegio Sierra de Guadarrama, the Music School and Gredos San Diego school.

The extension responds to a demand that had long appeared in residents' mobility proposals. Among them was precisely the need to connect Miranieves with educational centres and to make the L4 reach the area around Gredos San Diego better.

With the new route, the line will have a total of 90 stops and will continue to operate all year round, Monday to Sunday. From Monday to Friday, the first buses will leave at 6.35 from Vallefresnos and at 7.15 from the Sports Centre.

The last services will leave at 21.50 from Vallefresnos and at 21.00 from the Sports Centre. On weekdays there will be ten journeys from Vallefresnos and nine from the Sports Centre, while seven services will continue on Saturdays, Sundays and public holidays.

The timetable also means that the change arrives at a particularly useful time. The extension comes into operation just as September brings pupils back to schools, families back to their routines and more daily journeys to the municipality's streets.

For Guadarrama, this is not about launching a new line, but about making an existing one reach places where it was less practical. From Tuesday, Miranieves and several streets around the educational area will be somewhat closer to the rest of the municipality without always having to resort to the car.
