Nit dels Museus opens 94 sites free in Barcelona and the metropolitan area for one unique night

On Saturday 16 May, Barcelona and several cities in the metropolitan area will experience one of the year’s most eagerly awaited cultural nights. Nit dels Museus 2026 will allow free access to 94 museums and cultural spaces from 19:00 to 1:00, an opportunity to discover landmark corners and renewed offerings at no cost.
The event is not confined to the Catalan capital. Badalona, Cornellà, Esplugues, l’Hospitalet, Sant Adrià, Sant Joan Despí and Santa Coloma are also joining the celebration, expanding the range of options for those seeking different plans in and around the city. Among the participating museums and centres are classics such as MACBA, the Museu Picasso de Barcelona, the Museu Nacional d’Art de Catalunya, CaixaForum Barcelona and the Museu Marítim. Distinctive venues are also taking part, such as the Barça Immersive Tour, Casa Batlló, Hospital de St Saver and the Reial Monestir de Santa Maria de Pedralbes, which celebrates its 700th anniversary this year and promises a special experience.
The 2026 edition brings new additions: for the first time, Gran Hotel Barcino de Barcelona, Centre Cultural La Bòbila and l’Hospitalet’s La Florida 6.0 centre are participating. It will also be possible to visit recently renovated spaces, such as the Centre d’Interpretació del Castell de Montjuïc and two sites of the Museu d’Història de Barcelona: Casa de l’Aigua and Fabra i Coats.
Montjuïc is consolidating its position as one of the night’s epicentres, with as many as eleven venues open and a wide variety of themes on offer. For those wishing to make the most of the event, this area makes it possible to link several visits into a single night-time route.
Access to the venues is organised in three ways: some require booking for general admission, others only for specific activities, and many allow free entry without prior registration.
