Plaza de Chamberí is preparing for a transformation: green areas, a modern fountain and space for children's play
The Chamberí de Madrid square will be completely transformed by summer 2026. The main new feature will be a square fountain with vertical jets and a granite perimeter, while the existing decorative fountain, with bronze figures of children and the statue of Loreto Prado, will be preserved and moved to the flowerbeds.
The bandstand will be restored and relocated to enlarge the central area, and the playground will be divided into three zones with different equipment for children of various ages.
The square will get new stone paving, modern furniture, 14 new trees and expanded green areas, and the lighting will be energy-efficient and create a warm atmosphere. The renewed Chamberí will become a comfortable, green space for residents to gather and relax.
