The Sagrada Familia surprises with a light show and unique workshops at Semana Santa
Barcelona will experience a different Semana Santa at the Sagrada Familia. The temple will host a nighttime show of lights and music, open to everyone. There will also be family workshops and liturgical celebrations. An opportunity to rediscover the city's icon.
The Sagrada Familia becomes the centre of Semana Santa in Barcelona with a programme combining culture, tradition and family proposals. From 29 to 31 March, the Passion façade will host a free light and music show recreating Christ's passion in two daily sessions, in Catalan and Spanish, with no booking needed.
Between 21 March and 6 April, workshops will be organised to decorate chocolate crosses designed by Lluc Crusellas, alongside guided interactive visits (€9).
The liturgical programme includes Palm Sunday Mass (29 March), the Easter Triduum (2, 3 and 4 April) and the Way of the Cross (3 April), with the participation of Javier Vilanova and David Abadías. In addition, the temple offers a virtual-reality experience to discover the legacy of Antoni Gaudí.
This programme reinforces the role of the Sagrada Familia as a cultural and spiritual symbol of the city, offering residents and visitors new ways to experience Semana Santa and energising urban life in one of Barcelona's most emblematic places.
