A biscuit paying tribute to the Sagrada Família wins the award for Catalonia’s best tea biscuit in 2026. Hofmann’s workshop surprises with a unique design and flavours that evoke the city. Find out where to try this creation and how much it costs.
Barcelona has a new reason for gastronomic pride: a biscuit inspired by the Sagrada Família has been chosen as Catalonia’s best tea biscuit in 2026. This recognition, awarded by Dulcypas magazine, puts creativity and local flavour centre stage and makes Hofmann patisserie one of the season’s leading names.
The biscuit, named Origen, stands out for a design reminiscent of a postage stamp topped by the silhouette of the Sagrada Família and the year construction of the basilica began, 1882. Beyond its appearance, the creation surprises with its combination of hazelnut, coffee and buckwheat, with a Scottish shortbread base, hazelnut-and-coffee praline, hazelnut gianduja, sobacha caramel and dark-chocolate coating. The result is an explosion of textures and nuances designed to be enjoyed slowly with an infusion.
Boxes of six can be bought at Hofmann’s city shops, at Flassaders, 44 and Pau Casals Avenue, 5, for €18. This award follows the prize received in 2025 for Spain’s best chocolate bonbon, consolidating Hofmann as a benchmark in artisanal signature patisserie.
The workshop does not stop there. For Sant Jordi 2026, Hofmann has launched an individual rose-shaped cake that combines chocolate sponge, crunchy vanilla biscuit and a lychee-and-rose compote filling. Dark-chocolate and raspberry mousse envelops it, finished with raspberry petals evoking the festival’s most emblematic flower. Each piece sells for €13 and promises to become one of the day’s most sought-after sweets.
Hofmann’s commitment to reinterpreting city icons through patisserie strengthens the connection between tradition, innovation and urban life in Barcelona. Its creations not only win awards, but also invite people to rediscover the city through the palate.
The Sagrada Família, beyond being Barcelona’s most visited monument, has become a symbol of inspiration for local artists and creators. Its construction, begun in 1882 and still unfinished, represents the city’s ability to reinvent itself and surprise. The basilica, Antoni Gaudí’s masterpiece, attracts millions of visitors every year and continues to set trends in fields as diverse as architecture, design and now signature patisserie.
Hofmann rewards Barcelona with ‘Origen’. The biscuit inspired by the Sagrada Família wins the Dulcypas Award for Catalonia’s Best Tea Biscuit 2026 and sells for €18 at Flassaders 44 and Pau Casals 5.
