A key section of Vía Complutense in Alcalá reopens to traffic after weeks of works
The section of Vía Complutense between Parque O’Donnell-Roca and Luis Astrana Marín has reopened to traffic in Alcalá de Henares, restoring Madrid-bound traffic after several weeks of works. The project is part of the renewal of the sewerage system and affects one of the city's most used roads.
The reopening is an immediate relief for those who cross Alcalá every day. In recent weeks, closures and detours have disrupted mobility, forcing people to find alternative routes during peak hours.
Work is now continuing on the semi-carriageway towards Guadalajara, where signage will be adjusted and both lanes will gradually be opened. The aim is to fully restore traffic as soon as possible.
The project includes the renewal of the sewer that connects this road with the area around the Torrelaguna tunnel, a key improvement for the functioning of the sanitation network.
The project has an investment of more than three million euros, as part of the Programa de Inversión Regional of the Comunidad de Madrid, focused on modernising urban infrastructure.
