The 8th National Film and Rural Women Series will be held in Spain in October
Spain will host the 8th edition of the National Film and Rural Women Series, which includes more than 800 events devoted to women’s role in the development of rural areas.
From 15 October onwards, the VIII Ciclo Nacional de Cine y Mujeres del Medio Rural will take place across Spain, a cultural initiative by the Ministerio de Agricultura aimed at highlighting the importance of the women who bring life and rhythm to rural communities.
The programme will cover 470 municipalities and bring together more than 800 events, ranging from premieres and debates to creative gatherings focused on equality, culture, and inspiration.
The opening will be held on 17 October at the Cine Estudio del Círculo de Bellas Artes de Madrid. The date was chosen specifically to coincide with the celebration of the Día Internacional de las Mujeres Rurales. The line-up includes 17 feature films and 4 short films. In addition, for the first time, there will be an online programme available from 17 October in Spain and 13 countries in América Latina.
The cycle is complemented by masterclasses, meetings with directors, craft fairs, and educational projects, making the event a vibrant cultural platform where cinema, equality, and the voice of the countryside resonate together, revealing stories full of strength, beauty, and change.
